The founder
Munsur Ali
Founder
A film graduate of 2004, Munsur has spent more than twenty years in the industry — starting out as a writer-director before moving into producing, and building an overarching knowledge of film business and sponsorship gained first-hand rather than from the sidelines. His debut film, Shongram, starring Anupam Kher and Asia Argento, was a critically acclaimed British romantic drama exploring post-colonial India and the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. Alongside his production work, he is a Member of the City of London Corporation — where he chaired the Culture, Heritage and Libraries Committee — and a board member of the Barbican, Europe's largest arts centre.

We work with international producers who need a UK base and a tax rebate that actually lands, and with independent UK filmmakers who need the same level of support without the same size of budget.
Beyond film, we run a working TV studio, a photography studio and a podcast facility, because most of what a modern production needs isn't just cameras — it's a place that can turn around whatever the brief actually is, in whatever format it needs to arrive in.

A big part of our market is India — so it made sense to bring in someone who's spent thirty years there.

Shahnaab brings over three decades across film, television, live events and journalism in the UK and India, with producing credits including The Lunchbox, Ugly and Monsoon Shootout. He heads development and strategy at Easterly Entertainment in India and is a founding partner of Invisible Thread Media in London — at Moringa Studios, he leads our India market connections and strategic partnerships.

Peter joins us from our sister company, bringing 25 years of film finance straight into the hub.
Peter Dunphy
Finance & Investment
Peter brings over 25 years of experience in film finance and investment, spanning SEIS and EIS — the UK's tax-efficient schemes for early-stage and growth investment — as well as private equity and debt finance. He has produced sixteen feature films, including Mad to Be Normal (starring David Tennant), Funny Cow (starring Maxine Peake), Surviving Christmas (starring Edward Fox and Gemma Whelan) and Two Graves (starring David Hayman). A regular speaker on film finance at the Raindance and New Renaissance film festivals, he is also an elected Councillor of the City of London and former Chairman of its Licensing Committee. Peter joins Moringa Studios from Moringa Productions, our sister company.
