Shahnaab Alam is a pan-media professional with more than three decades of combined experience in journalism, television, live events and cinema. He is a producer of filmed content, both fiction and non-fiction, a creative supervisor on multi-disciplinary projects, and an artistic consultant for themed multi-media installations. His work spans a wide range of media, entertainment and other artistic pursuits.
His producing credits include almost twenty productions in multiple languages with domestic and international recognition. Some of the acclaimed films he has been associated with are Dhoom, Socha Na Tha, Shoonya, Dubai Return, The Lunchbox, Ugly, Monsoon Shootout, Omerta, Bhoga Khirikee (Broken Window), Buelwa (An Offering), and The Eye.
He is the founding partner and director of London-based Invisible Thread Media Limited. He also serves as a Consulting Producer at Fingerprint Content, and heads development and strategy at Easterly Entertainment, India. He has previously served as Executive Producer at Yash Raj Films, Commissioning Producer at DAR Motion Pictures, Head of IMPact (Special Projects) at UFO Digital Ltd., and Creative Consultant to Big Synergy Media Ltd.
He has served as Supervising Producer for the Awesome Assam tourism ad campaign, and as Artistic Consultant for establishing the Brahmaputra Heritage Centre in Guwahati. Earlier in his career as a journalist, he was associated with the Delhi MidDay as a Correspondent, The Herald Times as Associate Editor, and Asian Photography as Executive Editor. He has also co-produced live events including the 1st Zee Cine Awards and the 1st Sansui Movie Awards, and produced 'United for Gujarat', a fund-raising concert for earthquake victims featuring top bands from the SAARC (South Asian) countries. In 2001 he was invited to curate the UN Foundation Day event at the UN Headquarters in New York.
